Rikki Lund - LAX
Lund, a communication major, played an important part in UOIT extending their unbeaten streak to three games. The first-year netminder made a number of key stops in the Ridgebacks 11-11 draw against the Brock Badgers, who entered the game with a perfect 3-0 record. The following day, she held Guelph’s offence to just two second half goals in a 9-7 Ridgeback win.
The coaching staff praised Lund’s effort following the games and are hoping she continues to shine as UOIT plays host to the OUA championship from Oct. 23-25.

The men's novice four crew made their racing debut and turned in a gold medal performance. The crew of Bilal Bhatti (Mississauga, Ont.), Jamie Barletta (Toronto, Ont.), Christian Langevin (Cornwall, Ont.), Frobisher Moses (Ottawa, Ont.) and Khalil Sidawi (Cambridge, Ont.) posted a time of 23:02.737, well ahead of the second place crew from the Argonaut Rowing Club.
UOIT rowers hauled in five medals at the Head of the Welland and will be hoping the success carries over into Saturday at the Head of the Trent.
