James Krantz – UOIT Golf
Krantz, a fourth year mechanical engineering major, shot a 5-under 65 to win the Queen's Invitational by four strokes at the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club. The Oshawa native only needed 27 putts and hit 15 greens in regulation to cruise to the season opening victory. As a team, the Ridgebacks finished in second place overall, beating the defending OUA champion Waterloo Warriors by six strokes.
Nik Vantfoort, Rowing
Daria Ruginis and Nik Vantfoort teamed up at the Muskoka Fall Classic for the Ridgebacks first regatta of the season. The duo finished in first place overall with a time of 12:02, having the fastest time of the 11-boat race, finishing 29 seconds ahead of the second place crew. In the singles competition, Vantfoort earned his second podium finish of the day ending up in third place with a time of 13:21. Ruginis took part in the women's singles event and had a time of 14:42, just missing out on third place by 17 seconds.
