Bevan named student-athlete of the week
 
OSHAWA, Ont. – Ben Bevan (Whitby, Ont.) has been named the UOIT student-athlete of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Jan. 18.
 
Bevan, a fourth-year commerce student, led the Ridgebacks to a third place finish at the Brock Invitational over the weekend. The men’s curling team was 3-1 in pool play before defeating Carleton 6-3 in the third place game.
 
The skip and his teammates next action will be at home on Feb. 7-8 when UOIT hosts their bonspiel at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club.
