De Souza, an education student, scored the game-winning goal in the women’s soccer quarter-final match against the Toronto Varsity Blues on Sunday. Tied 1-1 with Toronto, De Souza scored from just outside the box in the 73rd minute, helping the No. 7 ranked Ridgebacks win 2-1 and advance to the OUA final four for the first time in program history. This is also the first time any team from UOIT has advanced to the OUA semifinals in their respective sport.
