OSHAWA, Ont. - Women’s soccer player Cassandra Sribny (Pickering, Ont.) has been named the UOIT student-athlete of the week presented by Boston Pizza, North Oshawa.
 
The first-year striker recorded a hat trick against the University of Windsor, as she scored the first three goals of her career. This is the first time in UOIT women's soccer history that a player has recorded a hat trick. The Ridgebacks went on to win the match by a score of 5-0.
 
Earlier in the week, the Ridgebacks won their first ever Campus Cup title after beating Durham College by a score of 2-0.
 
Sribny and the Ridgebacks will be back in action on Friday night when they host the University of Waterloo. Kick-off against the Warriors is 6 p.m.
