OSHAWA, Ont. – Adam Stone (Toronto, Ont.) and
Brett Hall (Toronto, Ont.) of the rowing team have been named Ontario Tech student-athletes of the week for the period ending November 3.
Hall and Stone were both at the Canadian University Rowing Championship (CURC) this week in Victoria, B.C. representing the Ridgebacks. Race day one started with the time trials. Later that day he teamed up with doubles partner (Stone) and placed 10th of 12 in their time trail, moving them into the B final.
Hall had a great start on day two in his singles race with an exciting finish, edging out Carleton for third place, placing him ninth overall. The duo then took to the water for an afternoon race against U of T, Guelph, McGill, Carleton and Calgary. They had a fast first 500 metres, trailed through the middle of the race, but came back with an exciting end to finish fourth in the final, placing them 10th overall.
This national championship wrapped up the rowing team's season.
