Eastman, a second-year commerce major, had a solid weekend for the Ridgebacks in their weekend split at home. On Friday night against the No. 3 ranked Carleton Ravens he scored the team’s lone goal, which also opened the scoring. The Ridgebacks fell 3-1, allowing an empty-net goal with 15 seconds remaining in the game.
 
Saturday night he finished with a goal and an assist against the No. 4 ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees. Eastman scored the game-tying goal in the second period after assisting Alex Yuill on the opening goal of the game. The Ridgebacks scored five unanswered goals after going down 2-0 to eventually win 5-2.
 
The rowing team has now concluded their season, while men’s hockey hits the road this week to face Brock on Wednesday night and Toronto on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Ontario Tech student-athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
