Uchida, a third year mechatronics major, was a key piece of the Ridgebacks defence in their final weekend of conference play on Saturday. Uchida aided the Ontario Tech back line in shutting out the York Lions 24-0 to start the day. She followed that performance by helping to limit some key offensive threats from the Toronto Varsity Blues as the Ridgebacks earned an 11-11 tie.

Finishing third in the east, the Ontario Tech women's lacrosse program will now face the second seed in the OUA west on Friday, Oct. 18 in their opening game of the OUA championship at 2:30 p.m. The opening game of the championship, hosted at Vaso's Field, will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday.
