In Toronto last week, Chen defeated George Brown’s No. 3 men’s singles player Areej Shalwani in two sets (21-13, 21-13). In doubles action with teammate Zhiyi Chen (Newmarket, Ont.), they fell to George Brown’s No. 1 team in two sets (13-21, 16-21).
 
“As captain of our team, Sheng showed our other athletes how to perform at their very best in competition”, said head coach Wayne King. “He showed a huge improvement in that regard from last season.”
