OSHAWA, Ont. – Cassandra Sribny (Pickeirng, Ont.) of the women's soccer team and Erik Petrovic(Sombor, Serbia) of the men's soccer team have been named the UOIT student-athletes of the week for the period ending Oct. 22.
 
Fifth-year veteran Petrovic scored the lone and game-winning goal in Sudbury against the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday. Off a cross from Fabio Campoli, Petrovic headed the ball towards the back of the net marking the goal that would solidify home game advantage for UOIT during their first round of playoffs.
 
This Wednesday, UOIT men's soccer is back at home against Laurentian at the Oshawa Civic in the first round of playoffs. 

The UOIT student-athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
