OSHAWA, Ont. – Erik Petrovic (Sombor, Serbia) of the men's soccer team and Mackenzie Dasti(Oshawa, Ont.) of the men's golf team have been named the UOIT student-athletes of the week for the period ending October 8.
 
Dasti had his best finish of the season as he finished fourth overall at the Toronto Varsity Blues Invitational. Dasti shot a two-day total of 147 that included an even-par 72 in the second round. UOIT golfers will now head to the OUA championship hosted by the Ottawa Gee-Gees next week. The tournament will run from Oct. 13-15 at the Loch March Golf Club in Ottawa, Ont. Dasti has performed well at the provincial championship in the past two years recording back-to-back top ten finishes and being awarded OUA all-star status.
 
The UOIT athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
