OSHAWA, Ont. – Taijah Henderson (Ajax, Ont.) of the women's soccer team and Nik Vantfoort(London, Ont.) of the rowing team have been named the UOIT student-athletes of the week for the period ending September 10.
 
Henderson scored in both victories for the Ridgebacks over the weekend, which pushed UOIT's win streak to five matches. On Saturday against the Ryerson Rams she scored the second goal of the match in the 18^th minute as the Ridgebacks held onto their early lead for a 2-0 victory. She wrapped up the weekend against the Varsity Blues with the game-winning goal in the 72^ndminute before assisting on Cassandra Sribny's insurance marker in the 90^th minute. This brings Henderson's goal total to four through five matches, which leads the Ridgebacks.

This weekend UOIT women's soccer is back at home against the Ryerson Rams on Saturday and the Toronto Varsity Blues on Sunday. Kick-off is 1 p.m. for both games.
