Erik Petrovic

The UOIT Ridgebacks find themselves off to the best start in program history thanks in large part to the strong play of Erik Petrovic.
 
Petrovic scored twice on Saturday as the Ridgebacks defeated the Trent Excalibur 4-2.
 
After falling behind 1-0 early, Petrovic evened the score at the 25-minute mark of the first half.
 
UOIT would add another before the third-year Business Commerce student-athlete found the back of the net once again, stretching the Ridgebacks lead to two.  That goal would hold up as the eventual game winner.
 
Through three games this season, Petrovic is tied for the league lead in goals with three.
 
After a tie with Nipissing to open the season, the Ridgebacks have won back-to-back games and find themselves tied with the Ryerson Rams atop the OUA East division standings.
 
This weekend, the Ridgebacks head out onto the road for a match in the nation's capital with the Carleton Ravens.
