Bolt and Pavlisko named student-athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Cassandra Bolt (St. Thomas, Ont.) and Shaylyn Pavlisko (Oshawa, Ont.) have been named the UOIT student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Feb. 8.
Pavlisko, a second year criminology and justice studies student, scored her second goal of the season to help the Ridgebacks make history on Sunday. She beat Laurier’s goalie, Nicholle Kovach, with just four minutes left on the clock to put UOIT ahead 2-1. This was the Ridgebacks first win over the Laurier Golden Hawks in program history. The Ridgebacks will look to extend their point streak to three games next Friday when they travel to Windsor to take on the Lancers (13-5-4). The Ridgebacks will close out their season the following day in London, meeting up with the No. 3 ranked Western Mustangs (17-1-3).
