Kennedy named student-athlete of the week
 
OSHAWA, Ont. – Colt Kennedy (Ajax, Ont.) has been named the UOIT student-athlete of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Nov. 30.
 
Kennedy, a forensic psychology student at UOIT, led the Ridgebacks offensively in Friday night’s 7-6 win over Laurentian University. The second-year forward had a hat trick and an assist in the Ridgebacks seventh win of the season. Kennedy now has seven goals and 11 points in 17 games with UOIT this year.
 
The Ridgebacks men’s hockey team wrapped up the first half of their season Saturday at home against Nipissing. Their next OUA regular season game is Jan. 9 on the road against Brock. They will play an exhibition game against the Guelph Gryphons at home on Dec. 30.
