Hughes, a third-year communications and digital media student, took a heartbreaking loss between the pipes on Friday in the Ridgebacks home opener against the No. 10 ranked Nipissing Lakers. Hughes stopped 44 of 46 shots against in UOIT's 2-1 overtime loss to the Lakers. Her performance helped secure the team's first point of the season and finds her with the top save percentage and most saves in the OUA so far this year.
