Gates, a first-year criminology and justice studies student, proved herself to be one of the most talented up-and-coming weapons for the youthful Ridgebacks this past Sunday. The rookie attack scored a hat-trick in UOIT's opening matchup versus the host Trent Excalibur. Then in the second contest of the day, Gates added a goal and an assist, proving to also be a facilitator for the Ridgebacks offence.
