Mayede, an automotive engineering student, skipped the UOIT curling team at the OUA championship at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club. The Ridgebacks’ biggest win of the weekend came in draw six against Laurentian. Trailing the Voyageurs 7-0 after three ends, UOIT scored at least point in six consecutive ends including a steal of three in the seventh to earn an 8-7 victory. The Ridgebacks narrowly missed out on a berth in the quarter-finals.
