OSHAWA, Ont. – Joshua Nguyen and Chloe Hoang of badminton were named Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending on Sunday, February 9.

The Ridgebacks badminton team travelled to York for the OUA Badminton Championship this past weekend and battled hard with several close finishes including a 6-4 loss to the Toronto Varsity Blues, and a 5-5 tie against the McMaster Marauders. The Ridgebacks started day two with a 6-4 loss to Western but ultimate took down the Guelph Gryphons 6-2 and wrapped the weekend with a 7-7 finish against the TMU Bold in the 7th place tie.

Both Nguyen and Hoang were honored as OUA All-Stars for their performances at the event and now look forward to the 2025 YONEX Canadian University/College Championships taking place in March.
