OUA Tennis Championship Preview

Championship Draw

Fall championship season begins in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) this weekend when the Western Mustangs host the 2014 Men's and Women's Tennis Championships from Oct. 3-5.

Play begins bright and early on Friday with men's singles matches set to begin at 10 a.m. at the Western Tennis Centre when Western and Carleton play the day's opening draw. Women's singles matches begin at 12:30 p.m. with York facing UOIT.  Doubles play commences on Saturday at 9 a.m. with Montreal and UOIT on the men's side, and Montreal against Carleton on the women's.

The weekend will be action packed with six flights of singles action and three flights of doubles for both the men and women. The individual champion will be crowned as winner of the top flight. The team champion will be awarded to the school with the most cumulative points in all flights throughout the weekend. Singles matches are worth one point, while half a point is awarded for doubles matches.

The OUA all-star and team champion awards will be handed out at the event following the final match on Sunday.
