UOIT's Kitso Leshope shines to start the tennis season

OSHAWA, Ont. – Second year manufacturing engineering major Kitso Leshope had an outstanding start to the varsity tennis season for UOIT as he won all three of his singles matches this weekend.

Leshope, who is playing in the number two position for the Ridgebacks, opened up the weekend up with a 2-1 victory over his opponent from the University of Toronto. Set scores were 6-3, 3-6 and 10-4 (tiebreaker). At York University on Saturday, he was able to pick up his second win of the weekend with a straight set sweep (6-4, 7-6).

In Sunday's match against McGill University, Leshope fell behind early dropping the first set (6-3). In the second set, he was able to grind out a 7-5 victory, forcing a third set tiebreaker.
