Novice Rowing

WHO CAN TRY OUT?

  • ANY Ontario Tech University student
  • No rowing experience necessary
  • Can have prior rowing experience, but have not competed in the sport of rowing
  • Must be a FULL TIME student
  • Competitive sport experience an asset

PRACTICE DAYS & TIMES:

Monday – Friday: 5:00 – 7 a.m.
Saturdays (non-regatta): 6 to 8 a.m.

TRYOUTS:

Thursday, September 10, 2026:

Novice Rowing Information Session, 6:30pm – 8:30 p.m, room TBA

Saturday, September 12, 2026:
8 a.m. – noon: 2 km run & 1000 m erg test as well as orientation, dock-side training and on-water session at Durham Rowing Club, 8 Old Rail Lane, Port Perry.

Sunday, September 13, 2026:
6 a.m. – noon: On-water sessions at Durham Rowing Club

If you cannot attend any of the above listed tryouts, please let the coaches know as soon as possible as other arrangements may be made

COST:

$360: Membership fees to Durham Rowing Club
$250: Varsity Athletic Fee (includes gear, regatta fees, etc.)
