A member of the Ontario Tech men's hockey team has been recognized for his play during the 2022-23 season. James White (Peterborough, Ont.) has been named an OUA second team all-star.
White finished the season with a career-high 12 goals and 24 points in 29 games. This led Ontario Tech in scoring, averaging .92 points per game. He also scored three game-winning goals and two short-handed goals. White finished top 20 in scoring and points in the OUA this season, sitting tied for 18th in points and 12th in goals.
"Our entire program is thrilled to see James recognized for his tremendous season," said head coach
Curtis Hodgins. "He came into this year in great shape and ready to play, and he was outstanding for us all year long. James logged a lot of minutes for us in all situations and with his size and skating ability he was certainly a handful for the opposition. Definitely fully deserving of this recognition."
White is just the second Ridgeback to be named a second team all-star, joining Jason Guy from the 2009-10 season. Most recently, Ontario Tech's Matthew Barron and Noah McMullin were named all-stars during the 2021-22 season.Â
