OSHAWA, Ont. – William Desmarais (Sherbrooke, Que.) from men's hockey and Chloe Hoang (Markham, Ont.) from badminton have been Ontario Tech student-athletes of the week for the period ending on November 12.

Desmarais had a stand out week in net for the Ridgebacks, as they've now picked up wins in four of their last five games. Against Windsor, he helped the Ridgebacks maintain a 3-2 lead by making a season-high 38 saves. Against Western, the entire team made their case for male student-athlete of the week, but Desmarais sealed the argument with shutout in the a 9-0 victory in London.

Hoang opened the Ridgebacks badminton season strong by picking up a women's double first place finish with Jailyn Joensen (Brooklin, Ont.) at the Laurier Invitational. She followed up the preformance by getting another first place finish in mixed doubles with Joshua Nguyen (Markham, Ont.).

The Ridgebacks men's hockey program will be back in action Nov. 15 when they take on the York Lions on the road, in what will be a preview of the upcoming Carriage Cup game at the Tribute Communities Centre.
