Leah Herrfoot made the difference on Saturday as her shootout goal lifted the Waterloo Warriors to a 2-1 victory over the Ontario Tech women's hockey team, the final preseason game for both programs. 

Ontario Tech's Lauren Bealieu (Caistorville, Ont.) opened the scoring 4:57 into the game. 

Tatum James tied the game for the Warriors at the 16:48 mark of the first, where the game stood through regulation. 

Zoe McGee (Kanata, Ont.) made 29 saves in the loss, while Kara Mark made 23 in the victory. 

Ontario Tech now opens their OUA season on the road next weekend with games against the Windsor Lancers on Friday and Western Mustangs on Saturday. Their home opener is the following week against the Brock Badgers on Friday, Oct. 28.
