OSHAWA, Ont. – Christopher Campoli's (Woodbridge, Ont.) goal on a penalty kick in injury time lifted the Ontario Tech men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over the No. 5 ranked York Lions on Thursday night, the program's first conference win over the Lions in program history.
At halftime the two teams were tied 0-0, with Dieu Merci Yuma opening the scoring in the match for York in the 64
th minute.
Jacob Begley (Markham, Ont.) headed home the Ridgebacks first goal of the season off a
Jonathan Neil's (Caledon East, Ont.) free-kick in the 73
rd minute.
Matthew Mattila (Pickering, Ont.) made five saves in the victory.
Ontario Tech will now head to York on Thursday, Sept. 30 for a rematch against the Lions. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:15 p.m.
