NORTH YORK, Ont. – After an upset to start the season, defeating the nationally ranked York Lions, the Ontario Tech men's soccer team fell 2-0 to York on Thursday night.
The Lions opened the scoring in the ninth minute on a goal by Soji Olatoye.
The score through the opening half stayed at 1-0 for the Lions.
In the 54th minute Dieu Merci Yuma scored on a PK to increase the lead to two.
Matthew Mattila (Pickering, Ont.) made seven saves in goal in the loss, while George Tzimas made five in the clean sheet victory.
Ontario Tech men's soccer has a week off as they will next host Queen's on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 8:15 p.m.
