JOHNSTOWN, PA - The Ontario Tech University men's hockey team came from behind to earn a 4-2 victory over the Robert Morris Colonials on Saturday night.
The exhibition tilt held at the historic 1st Summit Arena at Cambria County War Memorial, home of the film 'Slap Shot,' was coined the College Hockey Classic.
"It was a well played and physical game between the two teams," said head coach Curtis Hodgins. "It was a great opportunity for us to get our game back up to speed after a long layoff and in advance of the stretch beginning next week as we travel north. The Johnstown Tomahawks organization did a fantastic job in putting on this game and treating both teams in a first class manner."
Down 2-0 early in the second, the Ridgebacks scored four unanswered second period goals to earn the win.
Tyson McConnell (Pilot Mound, Man.), Jack Patterson (Bedford, N.S.), Pierre Luc Lurette (Val-d'Amour, N.B.) and Nicolas Tardif (Chelsea, Que.) each scored for Ontario Tech.
Michael Bullion (Anchorage, Alaska) and Leif Hertz (Kingston, Ont.) split the game in goal, with Hertz turning aside all Colonials shots in the final 30 minutes of the game.
This week the Ridgebacks have a busy start to their second half as they travel north to face the Laurentian Voyageurs and Nipissing Lakers before returning home to host McGill University on Sunday afternoon.
