OSHAWA, Ont. - Zoe Battie (Nanaimo, B.C.) and
Mariah Wilson (Cobourg, Ont.) were an unstoppable combo on Sunday in the Ridgebacks' 5-2 preseason victory over the St. Thomas Tommies at the Campus Ice Centre.
The duo combined for three of UOIT's five goals, with linemate Sara Biesenthal (Chepstow, Ont.) adding to the line's success with two assists in the game.
Wilson opened the scoring with her first of two goals in the game at 2:23 of the first period. Biesenthal and Battie picked up assists on the play.

Cassie Charette (Ottawa, Ont.). Jessie McCann and Lauren Henman earned assists for the Tommies.
With the teams tied at a goal apiece after the first period, it was St. Thomas who scored next to take a 2-1 lead 10:08 into the second. Teah Anderson banged home a rebound soon after UOIT changed goalies, putting
Tori Campbell (Lethbridge, Alta.) in at the 9:58 mark.

Shanelle Doucette (Bowmanville, Ont.), assisted by
Jenna Carter (Whitby, Ont.), scored to tie the game 2-2.
Shay Pavlisko (Oshawa, Ont.) put the Ridgebacks ahead with 7:53 remaining in the second, beating Abby Clarke glove side on a breakaway.
In the third, Battie scored at the 1:57 mark, while Wilson added her second goal with just 18 seconds remaining in the period. Wilson and Biesenthal assisted Battie's goal, while Battie earned a helper on Wilson's tally.
The UOIT women's hockey team is back in action next Saturday when they host the Toronto Furies of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) as part of UOIT's Homecoming celebration. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Campus Ice Centre.
After the game members of the Furies and Ridgebacks will be available for autographs in the lobby of the CIC.
