Box Score OUA Women's Hockey: UOIT defeated Nipissing 2-0 NORTH BAY, Ont. – The UOIT women's hockey team avenged a 4-1 loss to Nipissing during their opening weekend, as they picked up a 2-0 shutout over the Lakers in North Bay on Friday afternoon.
Tori Campbell (Saskatoon, Sask.) earned her first win and shutout of the season, stopping all 25 shots she faced. Her performance was the complete opposite of her other start against Nipissing at home, where she allowed four goals against in a 4-1 loss.
Kassidy Nauboris (Brampton, Ont.) would get the game's opening goal just 3:52 into the contest. The game-winning goal was an all-freshmen connection with
Chelsea Ball (Maple, Ont.) and
Nicole Gorda (Edmonton, Alta.) recording assists on the play.

Teresa Horner (Hamilton, Ont.) would score her first-career OUA goal to give the Ridgebacks some insurance, beating Nipissing goaltender Micaela Stutzki 3:44 into the third period.
Nipissing outshot UOIT 25-20 including 14-10 in their third period comeback attempt. Both power plays came up empty, as UOIT was 0-for-4 while Nipissing was 0-for-3.
UOIT has now recorded points in three consecutive games and improve to 3-2-1 on the year. Nipissing has dropped the opening three games of their six-game home stand.
The Ridgebacks will remain up north as they take on the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday, Nov. 1. Game time is 3:50 p.m. in Sudbury.
