Bolt and Pavlisko named student-athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Cassandra Bolt (St. Thomas, Ont.) and Shaylyn Pavlisko (Oshawa, Ont.) have been named the UOIT student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Feb. 8.
Bolt, a fourth year concurrent education student, helped the UOIT women’s curling team pick up a tournament title at their own bonspiel hosted at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club over the weekend. Cassandra plays second on the team and played four strong games, with her sweeping and weight judgement being crucial to the team’s success. The team is now focused on the OUA championship, which will be held at the Guelph Curling Club on Feb. 19-23.
