OSHAWA, Ont. – Briar Hughes (Thornton, Ont.) of the women's hockey team and Alex Yuill(Wellington, Ont.) of the men's hockey team have been named the UOIT student-athletes of the week for the period ending January 21.

Yuill, also a communications & digital media studies major, had a three-point weekend in a split for the men's hockey team. In Saturday night's 3-0 victory over the Nipissing Lakers he finished with a pair of assists, which he followed with a goal in a 3-2 loss to the Laurentian Voyageurs on Sunday.
 
This weekend the women's hockey team hits the road, while the men are in North Bay on Friday night before returning home to host the Concordia Stingers at the Campus Ice Centre on Friday night.
 
Puck drop against the Stingers for Bell Let's Talk Night is 7:30 p.m.
 
The UOIT student-athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
