Martin started rowing in 1982 before joining his high school program in Victoria B.C. in 1983. He rowed for his high school team for three years and was also the Canadian Champion in the Under-19’s in 1984 and 1985. He rowed one sweep race in an 8 crew at the age of 16 for the University of Victoria; other than that Martin is a sculler. He just got back into rowing this year as support for his son Mitchell who rows in the high school program at the DRC. Martin also helps coach this program and is currently coaching the Uxbridge High school team with the DRC. Personal motto: “Row with Dedication”
