Kennedy graduated from Durham College's Fitness and Health Promotion in June 2017, then bridging into the Kinesiology program at Ontario Tech. In her first year at Ontario Tech, she joined the novice rowing team. As a novice, she mainly raced in the women’s 8+ with some experience/exposure in a women's 4. In 2018, Kennedy joined the varsity women's rowing team where we had exposure to a variety of different boats, including: doubles, pairs, fours, quads and singles. In her final year of varsity rowing, she joined as a coxswain in the varsity women's 4+.
Through her years as a varsity rower and coxswain, she held multiple positions on the Ridgebacks Leadership Council. For two years consecutively, she was named the Vice-President of Community Outreach and then became a Member at Large/Advisory Committee. In this same time, she joined the Rowing Executive Committee as the Vice-President of Fundraising. While being an athlete, she received multiple academic awards for surpassing a 3.5 GPA.
Currently, Kennedy is finishing her Kinesiology degree at Ontario Tech and took a step back as an athlete to pursue additional education and in turn became an assistant coach to share her expertise, skills, and training as a varsity athlete with the new novice team.
