OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's basketball team is excited to announce the addition of transfer guard Johnathan Goode ahead of the 2026-27 season.
A six-foot-two point guard from Brampton, Ont., Goode joins the Ridgebacks after spending the past two seasons with the Lakehead Thunderwolves men's basketball program. During his time with the Thunderwolves, he earned the team's Rookie of the Year honours in 2023-24 and continued to develop into a dependable presence in the backcourt.
Before beginning his U SPORTS career, Goode competed with AZ Unity on the EYBL circuit and starred at Bill Crothers Secondary School in Markham, Ont.
"I'm excited to enrol at Ontario Tech University and grateful for another opportunity to compete at the U SPORTS level," said Goode. "I felt like the coaching staff at Ontario Tech and I shared the same goal from the beginning: to win. After my visit, it was hard to look anywhere else. From both a basketball and academic standpoint, I feel like Ontario Tech has everything I need to succeed. I believe in this program, I believe in the process, and I think we have a real chance to surprise a lot of people next season."
Goode will join the Ridgebacks while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
"We're excited to welcome Johnathan Goode to Ontario Tech University and the Ridgebacks men's basketball program," said head coach
Deluxshan Pathmanathan. "Johnathan brings the type of character, work ethic, and competitiveness that aligns with the culture we continue to build here. We believe he has tremendous potential both on and off the court, and we're looking forward to supporting his growth and seeing the impact he'll make within our program and university community."
