OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey team earned a 4–1 victory over Western on Saturday night at the Campus Ice Centre, highlighted by a milestone performance from
Julia Jackson, who played in her 100th career OUA game.
Jackson marked the occasion in style, opening the scoring at 4:50 of the first period and later adding two assists to finish with a three-point night.
Harrie Jones doubled the Ridgebacks' lead midway through the opening frame, finishing a play set up by Jackson and
Emily Harrison. Western responded with a power-play goal later in the period to make it 2–1 after 20 minutes.
Ontario Tech restored its two-goal cushion early in the second period when
Mackenna Krulicki found the back of the net, again with Jackson picking up the assist. The Ridgebacks closed out the game late in the third, with Krulicki adding her second of the night into an empty net.
In goal,
Zoe McGee turned aside 20 shots to secure the win, as Ontario Tech limited Western to just one goal on four power-play opportunities.
Ontario Tech will be right back in action tomorrow, travelling to Toronto for a 6 p.m. puck drop in a game that was rescheduled on Thursday due to weather.
