OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's basketball team pushed Waterloo to overtime on Saturday night at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, but the Ridgebacks came up just short in an 81–74 finish.
Ontario Tech battled through a back-and-forth fourth quarter, closing the gap in the final seconds before
Elliot Cowan forced overtime with a three-pointer. Waterloo responded in the extra frame, capitalizing on clutch free throws to pull away.
Quincy Okubasu turned in a standout performance with 13 points and 16 rebounds.
Brianna Morrison also scored 13, shooting 6-for-9 from the field, while
Kaleah Gosse contributed 10 points, five rebounds and three steals. Cowan finished with nine points, all from beyond the arc.
Adra Barnet added seven points and three offensive boards as the Ridgebacks' bench supplied 28 points.
Waterloo was led by Ghiselle Poblete's 25-point effort, which included several late baskets and defensive plays to help the visitors pull away in overtime.
Ontario Tech's next game is at home against the Queen's Gaels on Friday, November 28 at 4 p.m.
