WINDSOR, Ont. – Keon Baker (Pickering, Ont.) went off for 32 points on Friday evening as the Ridgebacks beat the Windsor Lancers 87-79 on the road.
The two teams were locked in a battle throughout the first 20 minutes, and it was a pivotal third quarter where the Ridgebacks scored 22 points that gave the Ridgebacks a cushion.
Ayub Nurhussien (Hamilton, Ont.) added 23 points, three rebounds and two steals, while
Zubair Seyed (Chatham, Ont.) had 14 points and six assists. Behind Baker, Nurhussien and Seyed, the Ridgebacks fended off the Lancers in the fourth quarter to secure their 12th win of the year.
Baker's 32 points is the fifth highest scoring Ridgeback performance of all time, trailing 33+ point outings from Amar Hassan, Grady Kanku and
Jayden Coke.Â
The Ridgebacks will be back in action tomorrow night for their final stop on the extended road trip when they face the Western Mustangs at 8 p.m. They'll return home to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre on Friday, February 2 when they take on the Waterloo Warriors.
