Newcomers lead Ridgebacks to victory

The Ontario Tech men's soccer team opened their OUA season with a 3-1 win against the RMC Paladins with major contributions from new arrivals to the team.

New midfielder, Jack Sears (Ajax, Ont.), found the back of the net in the early portion of the game with a well-struck free kick. Another new addition, Brett Springer (Bamberg Ont.), opened the second half, putting the Ridgebacks up by two, and followed it up with another goal assisted by Matthew Perovic (Toronto, Ont.)

The Ridgebacks will have one more game on the road when they face the Queen's Gaels on Sunday before heading home to prepare for the annual Campus Cup, where they'll face off against the Durham Lords on Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.
