Late games heroics from
Brett Springer save a point for the Ridgebacks as they draw 2-2 with the Queen's Gaels.
Â
The Ridgebacks trailed for almost all 90 minutes as Queen's found the back of the net with a goal from Matthew Ciavarro in the opening minutes of the game. Queen's would double their lead before the half with a strike from Pablo Hempelmann-Perez.
Â
 In the second half,
Noah Laronde (Scarborough, Ont.) finally got the Ridgebacks on the board, burying into the corner of the net from 20 yards out. Ontario Tech's offense finally came to life, and had several chances to tie it with shots from
Carlos Edic (Toronto, Ont.) and
Jack Sears (Ajax, Ont.) in the final moments of regulation. In the last seconds of added time,
Brett Springer (Bamberg, Ont.) found a ball at his feet and buried it to tie the game before the final whistle.
Â
The Ridgebacks will now begin preparation for the annual Campus Cup meeting with the Durham Lords on Sept. 5 at Vaso's Field before hosting their home opener against the Laurentian Voyageurs on Sept. 9.
