Ridgebacks eliminated from playoff contention by Lions

The Ontario Tech women's hockey team were on the road on Friday night for a matchup against the York Lions. The Lions defeated the Ridgebacks 3-1.

After a scoreless first period, Nicole Escano (Kingston, Ont.) opened the scoring at the 7:33 mark of the second. Kayla Welk (Barrie, Ont.) and Julia Jackson (Unbridge, Ont.) picked up assists on the opening goal.
 
The Lions scored three unanswered goals and secured the two-goal victory. With Friday's loss the Ridgebacks were eliminated from playoff contention.

Ontario Tech's final game will be on Saturday, Feb. 18 at home against the Nipissing Lakers. Puckdrop and a senior day celebration is set for 7 p.m.
