OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's basketball program continued to build on their program best year by beating the Guelph Gryphons 87-63 for their seventh win of the year.
The Ridgebacks came out running to start the game and mounted a quick 8-0 lead that they never let go of.
Zubair Seyed (Cambridge, Ont.) led the team in points wtih 20 points to go along with nine rebounds and four assists.
Keon Baker (Pickering, Ont.) had 15 points, seven assists and four rebounds. Ontario Tech's total team effort saw five players reach double digits, including 12 points from
Stefan Prica (Toronto, Ont.) and
Emmanuel Okonkwo (Toronto, Ont.) off the bench, and 11 points for
Ayub Nurhussien (Hamilton, Ont.)
With the win, the Ridgebacks currently sit second in the OUA East division behind the top ranked Ottawa GeeGees.
The OUA will now take an extended break for the winter break, but the Ridgebacks will return on Jan. 5 in the new year when they take on the Carleton Ravens in one of the many high anticipated clashes that await the Ridgebacks in the new year.
