OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks women's basketball team fell short 64-56 to the Algoma Thunderbirds Friday afternoon at the Campus Recreational Wellness Centre. 
 
The women's team began strong, keeping the game at a two point differential at halftime. However, the Thunderbirds were able to pull away and maintain the lead for the remainder of the game. Algoma's Rhianna Mae-Liang finished the game as top scorer with 17 points and 17 rebounds.
 
Amarachi Achioso (Vaughan, Ont.) led the Ridgeback's scoring with 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals. Teammate Felicity Villarin (Calgary, Alberta) assisted with 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.
 
The Ridgebacks' final game of the calendar year will take place tomorrow at home against the Guelph Gryphons at 6 p.m.
