OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's basketball program dropped their second game in a row to start the season with a 71-54 loss at home to the Nipissing Lakers.

Despite the score, the Ridgebacks continue to see promising performances from their all-freshman starting five. Adra Barnet (Winnipeg, Man.) had 14 points and six rebounds to lead all Ridgebacks scorers.  While Amarachi Achioso (Vaughan, Ont.) and Felicity Villarin (Calgary, Alta) each had 11 points.  The game also marked the return of sophmore Elliot Cowan (Chatham, Ont.) from injury who played 24 minutes.

The Ridgebacks will now look to measure some early season improvements as they head out on the road for return matches against the Lakers and Voyaguers on Nov. 10 and 11.
