NORTH BAY, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's basketball program have picked up their first win of the season, taking down the Nipissing Lakers 62-59 in North Bay.

The back-and-fourth battle saw Nipissing mount an early lead that they narrowly kept a hold of throughout the first three quarters of basketball. The Ridgebacks were led by another standout performance from first-year guard Adra Barnet (Winnipeg, Man.) who had 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists. In the fourth, the Ridgebacks finally took their first lead of the game with a bucket from Felicity Villarin (Calgary, Alta) who had 11 points, six rebounds and three assists. The Ridgebacks were able to hold onto the lead from there.

It'll be a quick turnaround for the Ridgebacks as they finish their Northern roadtrip with a game in Laurentian tomorrow at 6 p.m.
