OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey team dropped their home opener to the Queen's Gaels on Thursday with a final score of 7-1 in a phsyical, penalty filled affair.

The loan Ridgebacks goal scorer was first-year player Alex Drover (Port aux Basques, N.S.), who picked the bottom left corner.

First-year goaltender Samuel Ivanov (Richmond Hill, Ont.) entered the game in relief just before the midway point of the third period, where he would two goals the rest of the way.

The Ridgebacks will be back in action on Wednesday, facing the Concordia Stingers in Montreal. They follow that up with three more games on the road versus the UQTR Patriotes, McGill Redbirds, and Lakehead Thunderwolves.
