OTTAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's soccer team's playoffs are still in their hands with a 1-1 tie against the Carleton Ravens.
Carleton found an edge in chances created, with 10 shots and five on target throughout the game to go with their solid defending. The Ridgebacks turned up the pressure in the later stages of the game, and finally, in the 90th minute,
Marlene Siwula (Mississauga, Ont.) found the ball on her foot after a defensive lapse from the Ravens and buried the shot to bring the game even.
The tie sees Ontario Tech move into fourth place in the OUA East, just above the Carleton Ravens in fifth. This sets the stage for a pivotal final game of the season, where the Carleton Ravens travel to Oshawa on Oct. 22.
