MONTREAL, Que. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey program picked up their first win of the OUA season with a 4-3 overtime thriller against McGill.
The back and fourth game saw both teams trading goals, and
Sean Ross (Bracebridge, Ont.) picking up a goal with an assist from
Andrew Suriyuth (Kingston, Ont.).
Ben Roode (Dartsmouth, N.S.) would also pick up a goal after the puck took a wild bounce off the boards in the second period.
In the dying moments of the third period, the Ridgebacks pulled and with four seconds left in the game,
James White (Peterborough, Ont.) found the back of the net with help from
Cullen McLean (Whitby, Ont.) and
Stephen Calisti (Etobicoke, Ont.) to send the game into overtime. Once, in overtime, it was
Evan White (St. John's, N.L.) who secured the win with a show stopping goal.
The Ridgebacks have one more game on the road against the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Oct. 21 before returning home to the Campus Ice Centre on Oct. 27 to take on the York Lions.
