OSHAWA, Ont. – For the second time in school history, Ontario Tech is hosting an Ontario University Athletics (OUA) curling championship.
 
The three-day OUA women's curling championship will take place at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club from Feb. 3-5 and will see 16 schools competing for the provincial title. Previously Ontario Tech hosted both the men's and women's championship in 2017, also at Oshawa Golf and Curling Club.
 
"We are very excited to welcome the top university curlers to the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club," said Scott Barker, Ontario Tech athletic director. "This is a date every curler has marked on their calendar at the start of the academic year and we're hoping to provide them with a memorable championship weekend here in Oshawa."

There will be 10 draws over the three days, with the championship and bronze medal games scheduled for Sunday afternoon. 
 
This marks the 12th OUA championship that Ontario Tech will host. Previously, the Ridgebacks have played host to tennis (2009, 2012), golf (2014, 2015), curling (2017), field lacrosse (2014, 2015, 2019, 2021), women's soccer (2017) and badminton (2019).
 
Ontario Tech also hosted the 2021 OUA golf regional qualifier and 2022 University & College National Championships.
