Overtime heartbreak for Ridgebacks against nationally ranked Gee-Gees

The Ontario Tech men's basketball team was at home on Friday night, taking on the Ottawa Gee-Gees. In a back-and-forth contest, the Gee-Gees defeated the Ridgebacks 85-84 in overtime.

The Ridgebacks led by three after the first quarter, and took a 38-37 lead into halftime. Both teams finished the third with 24 points, and the Gee-Gees would outscore the Ridgebacks 16 -15 in the fourth to force overtime. 

The Gee-Gees topped the Ridgebacks 8-7 in overtime to finalize the Friday night victory. Ottawa's Guillaume Pépin finished as the game's top scorer with 26 points.

Jayden Coke (Ajax, Ont) led the Ridgebacks in scoring with 25 points. Levi Ogbonna (Toronto, Ont.) had a strong performance, finishing with 16 points, six assists, five rebounds, and two blocks.

The Ridgebacks' next game will be on Saturday, Jan. 28, against the Carleton Ravens. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
